This study looked at three participatory tools used with community health workers (CHWs) in the Philippines, comparing how they worked and what kind of information they produced. The tools helped gather data on CHWs’ roles and responsibilities, as well as broader challenges in healthcare delivery. Pairing CHWs for initial discussions encouraged open sharing of experiences, and facilitators with specific knowledge guided the conversations. CHWs highlighted both successes and difficulties in their work and made recommendations for improving healthcare programs. The study offers insights into using participatory tools to include CHW perspectives in designing and evaluating health programs.
