This study looked at why community health workers in rural Indonesia choose to use mobile health tools. It found that CHWs were more likely to use the app when they felt it was useful, easy to use, supported by their peers, and came with simple non-cash rewards. Their intention to use the app strongly predicted whether they actually used it. Money, formal training, and government or community support mattered less in this setting. The findings suggest that simple design and strong peer support are key to encouraging CHWs to use mobile health tools, though results may differ in other countries.
