This review examined how clinically integrated community health workers (cCHWs) help manage cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) in real-world settings. Researchers analyzed 25 studies from PubMed, CINAHL, and APA PsycInfo databases, focusing on cCHW programs for adults with CVD. Most studies (23 out of 25) showed that cCHW interventions improved outcomes like blood pressure control and chronic disease management. However, other important aspects, such as program reach and long-term impact, were less explored. While cCHW programs show promise in improving CVD care, more research is needed to fully understand their broader effects.
