The objective of this paper was to assess a key component of the CHW certification evaluation in Massachusetts, known as the CHW Workforce Survey. The CHW Workforce Survey is a 5-year culmination of efforts to evaluate the impact of CHW certification in Massachusetts. Interviews were conducted with CHWs and CHW employers to validate and refine the survey. Input from state and national stakeholders, CHWs, and CHW employers was then utilized to finalize survey tools. The rigorous design, administration, and analysis of this evaluation serves as a robust, validated, and replicable methodology that can be leveraged by others evaluating CHW workforce tools.
