The ARCHWAy program in Atlanta trains and supports Community Health Workers (CHWs) through both classroom and hands-on learning. An evaluation showed that participants gained skills in helping people with mental health needs, chronic illnesses, and barriers to care. They rated the training highly and reported learning how to build trust, navigate health systems, and empower communities. Overall, the program strengthened CHWs’ skills and confidence, highlighting the value of ongoing training, support, and funding to sustain their work.
