This study examined whether culturally tailored training could help Asian American Community Health Workers (CHWs) improve their knowledge and skills in preventing heart disease and other cardiovascular conditions. After training, 20 CHWs showed improved knowledge of heart health and better personal heart health scores. However, their confidence in counselling and motivating others to make healthy changes did not improve significantly. Participants valued the training but said they needed more practical exercises to build their skills. The findings suggest that culturally relevant training can improve CHWs’ knowledge, but ongoing practice and support are needed to strengthen their ability to guide others in making healthy choices.
