The cohealth Health Concierge program operated in Melbourne, Australia from July 2020 to June 2022, aiming to support culturally diverse residents of high-rise public housing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through peer-to-peer interactions, Concierges promoted COVID-safe behaviors, facilitated access to health services, and shared information. The program reached many residents and contributed to high COVID-19 vaccine uptake. However, challenges included inconsistent implementation and a need for program evolution to address residents’ changing needs. Despite these challenges, the program demonstrated potential to inform and reassure communities during pandemics, highlighting the importance of responsive community health worker models.
