Community health workers (CHWs) and promotores de salud play vital roles in healthcare but are often not fully integrated into the U.S. healthcare system. Many are relegated to roles such as medical interpreters, limiting their impact. This paper explores this issue and emphasizes the need for collaborative research with CHWs/promotores and adherence to their intended role for maximizing their effectiveness.
