This study looked at how community health workers are involved in preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV in Tanzania. It found that the process of selecting and training these workers is not well organized, with different groups using different methods, leading to confusion and gaps. Training is often short and support is limited, which affects how well they can do their work. The study shows that stronger systems, better coordination, and more consistent training are needed to help community health workers be more effective in preventing HIV transmission from mothers to children.
