The Community Training Institute for Health Disparities (CTIHD) implemented a problem-solving curriculum in Community Health Promotion, consisting of two courses. Pre/post-tests were used to assess knowledge change among 27 community leaders from southern Puerto Rico, including Community Health Workers (CHWs). Cohorts showed increased knowledge, with Cohort 2 demonstrating higher retention rates and greater knowledge gains. Although not statistically significant, the program’s impact marks progress toward reducing health disparities and empowering healthier communities in southern Puerto Rico.
