Empowering Health sector: The Integral Role of Women, with Special Reference to Asha Workers in Nation Building

by

Authors: Shabana Faheem, Dr. Alka Asthana

This study highlights the crucial role of ASHA workers, female health activists in India, in improving healthcare access and outcomes. ASHAs serve as vital links between communities and healthcare services, contributing to programs like Janani Suraksha Yojna and Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram. Through secondary data analysis, the research shows that ASHAs have significantly improved maternal and neonatal care, increased institutional deliveries, and reduced mortality rates, especially among disadvantaged women and marginalized communities. Their work is essential in strengthening the healthcare system and advancing national health goals.
