Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing problem worldwide, worsened by the misuse of antibiotics. In India, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) can help address this issue by educating communities. This study trained 103 ASHAs over three days to improve their knowledge and practices around antibiotic use. After the training, ASHAs showed a clear increase in understanding, confidence, and correct practices, with fewer misconceptions like using antibiotics for viral infections. Communities were receptive, with most people willing to follow their guidance. The study shows that well-trained ASHAs can play a key role in promoting proper antibiotic use and fighting AMR at the community level.
