This study looked at whether a practical training program could improve the skills and knowledge of nurse midwives in India. Before the training, there were clear gaps, especially in areas like mental health and tobacco control. After the training, both knowledge and practical skills improved a lot, including tasks like checking blood pressure, identifying pregnancy, and caring for newborns. However, a few skills still needed improvement, showing the need for regular refresher training. Overall, the study shows that hands-on, well-structured training can make a big difference in how health workers perform.
