This study assessed the effectiveness of CHW visits on the uptake of modern contraception in rural Nigeria. The authors found that women who talked with a CHW had 50% higher odds of reporting contraceptive use than those who did not talk with a CHW. This study highlights the value in CHW-delivered healthcare for women and calls for the enhanced training and support of CHWs to deliver contraceptive education to women of reproductive age.
