This study in Malawi examined whether reading glasses could help Community Health Workers (CHWs) enter health information more accurately using mobile phones. Among 105 CHWs with age-related difficulty seeing nearby objects, those who wore reading glasses were almost twice as likely to enter data correctly as when they worked without glasses. Although the glasses did not significantly improve the time taken to complete tasks, most CHWs felt that data entry was easier and believed glasses could improve their work. The study suggests that providing affordable reading glasses could help CHWs record health information accurately and improve the quality of patient care.
