Diabetes management among underserved older adults through telemedicine and community health workers

by

Authors: Zyrene Marsh, Yen Nguyen, Yamini Teegala, and Valerie T. Cotter

In the United States, individuals from  marginalized communities experience higher disease burden from diabetes. This systematic review evaluated the effectiveness of CHW-led interventions to improve diabetes-related outcomes in older adults diagnosed with diabetes. It found that CHW-led interventions were effective at improving diabetes-related outcomes and adds to the growing body of evidence for the use of CHW-led interventions to improve care in the United States.
