In low-resource settings with significant mental health treatment gaps, Lay Mental Health Workers (LMHWs) are utilized to improve access to care. This study evaluated a pilot program in Kerala, India, implementing peer supervision for LMHWs based on Social Cognitive Theories of Self-Efficacy. Experienced LMHWs supervised 12 peers, leading to improved performance and emotional support. The findings suggest the potential of peer supervision models to enhance outcomes and contribute to the training of LMHWs in addressing mental health challenges in resource-limited settings.
