This study evaluates the cost and cost-effectiveness of using community health workers (CHWs) to treat uncomplicated severe acute malnutrition (SAM) in children aged 6-59 months in rural Niger compared to the standard national protocol. The CHWs-led treatment was found to be more cost-effective, with lower costs per child recovered compared to the standard treatment. Additionally, it resulted in a better recovery rate and reduced costs for households in the Mayahi district of Niger.
