Sierra Leone has faced major health crises like Ebola, COVID-19, and mpox, which revealed how weak the health system is. Community Health Workers (CHWs) have played a key role in reaching people in remote areas, helping with contact tracing, public education, and keeping health services going. However, they face challenges like poor training, low pay, lack of supplies, and not being fully included in the health system. To strengthen their work, they need better support, training, and fair pay. Investing in CHWs can help Sierra Leone and other countries build stronger, more prepared health systems.
