This study assessed community health workers’ (CHWs) awareness of safe sleep practices recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) to reduce infant mortality. A questionnaire was distributed to CHWs, revealing fair to good levels of knowledge, attitude, and practices related to safe sleep. CHWs showed knowledge gaps in breastfeeding, pacifier use, and crib placement. Results suggest the need for additional training for CHWs to effectively promote safe sleep practices and reduce Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) cases.
