by

Authors: David Musoke, Edwinah Atusingwize, Deborah Ikhile, Sarah Nalinya, Charles Ssemugabo,Grace Biyinzika Lubega, Damilola Omodara, Rawlance Ndejjo, and Linda Gibson

The authors of this study examined the role CHWs play in preventing and supporting noncommunicable diseases interventions in the Wakiso District of Uganda. Although CHWs showed general knowledge of noncommunicable diseases, their role in prevention was limited. There are opportunities to better involve CHWs in the prevention of noncommunicable diseases through enhanced CHW training.
