This study explored how Community Health Workers (CHWs) could support rural Veterans and their family caregivers through the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Interviews with 24 community and VA partners found that CHWs could help people access care, coordinate services, and address social needs. However, successful integration would require clear roles, strong support, and training tailored to the needs of rural Veterans and their families. The study also highlights the need for consistent support and funding from VA leadership to make CHW programmes sustainable.
