This review looked at ways to provide mental health support in refugee camps across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It compared using outside experts with training refugees to support their own communities. The findings show that empowering refugees to take on these roles leads to more sustainable, culturally appropriate care and strengthens community resilience. This approach is often more effective than relying only on external specialists.
