This scoping review examines the role of community health workers (CHWs) in chronic kidney disease (CKD) care. Analysis of 23 studies from 10 countries revealed CHWs’ involvement in CKD diagnosis, health education, and patient navigation, primarily in home or clinic settings. Training was common among CHWs, indicating their potential to improve CKD care globally. However, further research, funding, and policy attention are needed to establish sustainable CKD care models involving CHWs.
