This study tested a 10-week online training program using a 3D virtual world to teach community health workers (CHWs) about diabetes prevention in Black communities. The training helped CHWs improve their knowledge, confidence, and healthy habits. Most participants found the training useful, interactive, and easy to follow, though some wanted more help using the virtual avatars. The results show that this type of training is a promising way to reach and train CHWs remotely.
