Community Health Worker (CHW) Movement in Hawai‘i: Moving Towards a CHW Association

This article presents perspectives drawn from a group of governmental, university and public health organizations supporting the creation of a professional association for community health workers (CHWs) in Hawai’i. It discusses monthly meetings conducted by CHWs starting from 2017 which addressed issues around work, information sharing, and the drafting of a strategic plan to form a professional association.
