Community health worker and family support for addiction treatment services

by

Authors: Li Li, Tuan Anh Nguyen, Hieu Ngoc Nguyen, Van Thi Nguyen, Ha Thi Thanh Nguyen & Thang Hong Pham

This study looked at how community health workers and family members support people receiving addiction care in Vietnam. It found that health workers who felt confident and satisfied with their jobs were more supportive of addiction services. Family members who had stronger relationships and better coping skills were also more supportive. The results suggest that improving worker confidence and job satisfaction, and strengthening family support, can help improve community-based addiction care.
