This study looked at how community health workers (CHWs) help improve childhood vaccination in rural Rwanda, especially in Burera District. Even though Rwanda has high overall vaccination rates, some children are still hard to reach. Surveys and interviews showed that CHWs play a key role in educating families, reminding them about vaccination appointments, and helping deliver vaccines in their communities. Most CHWs were trained, active in outreach, and trusted by caregivers. While their work has made a big difference, they still face challenges like transport and need more training and support. The study suggests that strengthening CHW programs is important to ensure all children are vaccinated.
