Community health workers (CHWs) are capable of supporting early cancer detection and management services. The authors of this study, conducted in Bangladesh evaluated the knowledge, attitudes, and practice (KAP) of CHWs related to cancer detection. They found that a majority of CHWs did not receive any cancer training and many were not aware of cancer resources available in Bangladesh; CHWs scored 54 percent in knowledge, 58 percent in attitude, and 64 percent in practice. This research highlights knowledge gaps in the CHWs of Bangladesh that can be addressed to further aid CHWs in detecting and managing cancer in their communities.
