This study explores how clinic-based Community Health Workers (CHWs) can help improve HIV management among Black people living with HIV (BPLH) in South Florida, where the HIV impact is significant. CHWs usually work in non-clinical settings, and there is limited data on their effectiveness in clinical environments. From March 2021 to January 2022, semi-structured interviews with patients, caregivers, and clinic staff were conducted to understand barriers and facilitators to HIV care and the potential role of CHWs. The findings revealed common concerns about HIV policy, clinic limitations, and stigma, and suggested that embedding CHWs into clinical teams could address these issues, meet social needs, and improve HIV care and outcomes for BPLH.
