In 2021, the CDC funded 67 health departments to implement community health worker (CHW) programs to support the COVID-19 response, and established the CHW-led Envision TTA Center to assist these programs and promote CHW workforce sustainability. After one year, Envision staff were interviewed to identify barriers and facilitators in developing the Center and how well CHW leadership was integrated. Thematic analysis revealed insights into relationships, CHW values in practice, and operational challenges, which informed program updates. These findings offer valuable lessons for CHWs, funders, and policymakers.
