In rural India, cancer is on the rise, but early detection and treatment are often hard to access. Community Health Workers (CHWs) like Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs). Village Health Nurses (VHNs), and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) try to help, but face many challenges. This study spoke to CHWs in three states and found key barriers such as lack of training, poor health facilities, fear of cancer, social beliefs, and money problems. CHWs in areas with some screening programs felt better prepared. The study highlights the need for better training, support, and local efforts to help CHWs improve cancer care in rural communities.
