Latina immigrants often face mental health challenges but have limited access to care. This study tested a program where community health workers (CHWs) were trained to support Latina women through group sessions aimed at reducing depression and anxiety. Five CHWs were trained and delivered the program to 37 women in Washington. The CHWs completed the training and delivered most of the program activities. The women showed high participation, were satisfied with the program, and had lower depression and anxiety scores after the sessions. The study suggests that CHWs can effectively support mental health in this community, though larger studies are needed to confirm the results.
