Assessing acceptability of digital financial services and associated factors, opportunities and challenges in Burundi health sector

by

Authors: Juste Niragira, Epipode Ntawuyamara, Armella Icitegetse, Janvier Niyukuri

This study in Burundi examined the use of digital payments (DP) in healthcare. Among 2,731 health providers, 62% accepted DP, with higher acceptance (74.8%) among community health workers. Most participants saw DP as beneficial for vaccination campaigns and believed it improved efficiency. Health workers in rural areas were more likely to use DP than those in urban areas. The findings show that DP can positively impact healthcare, especially during vaccination efforts.
