Anti-Rabies Vaccine Compliance and Knowledge of Community Health Worker Regarding Animal Bite Management in Rural Area of Eastern India

by

Authors: Dinesh P. Sahu, Preeti Ps, Vikas Bhatia, and Arvind K. Singh

Preventing rabies continues to be a struggle in developing countries. The authors of this study assessed community health worker (CHW) knowledge of how to address a potential rabies case. They found that CHWs had limited knowledge about bite wounds that could lead to rabies cases, highlighting an opportunity to enhance training to fill this knowledge gap in CHWs so they are better equipped to care for their communities.
