This study explored the characteristics, barriers, and facilitators to the implementation of CHW interventions in South Sudan between 2011 and 2019 through key informant interviews of CHWs. The findings in the study provide insight on the factors influencing CHW programs, and also inform on the contextual and health system related factors. Additionally, the study highlights the differences in the duration of training sessions for CHWs on similar topics across counties resulting from insufficient funding and lack of standardized training modules.
