In India, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are increasing, and the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Stroke (NPCDCS) was launched to tackle this issue. This study assessed the knowledge and skills of community health workers (CHWs) in Suryapet, Telangana, regarding NCDs. Conducted among 300 CHWs from June to August 2019, the study found that those over 40, with higher education, or previous NCD training, had the highest knowledge levels. Overall, most CHWs had limited understanding of NCDs, indicating a need for more training to improve their ability to identify symptoms and risk factors.
