Amplifying Community Health Worker Voices: An Exploratory Study of the CHW Workforce and Work Environment in Colorado

by

Authors: SHENAZAR ESMUNDO

This study explored the experiences of community health workers and their supervisors and found that many face challenges such as limited support, workplace inequalities, and organizational barriers that make their work more difficult. At the same time, the study highlighted the importance of supportive supervisors, inclusive decision-making, and recognizing the value of community health workers’ lived experiences. It recommends improving workplace policies, training, and organizational support to create better working conditions and strengthen the community health workforce.
