Addressing Asthma Disparities in Latino Youth: A Framework for Culturally Tailored Interventions and Community Health Worker Integration

by

Authors: Garcia Daniela

Latino children in the U.S. face high rates of asthma due to social, environmental, and healthcare challenges. This research highlights how community health workers (CHWs) can help by providing education, support, and care coordination tailored to Latino families. CHW programs have been shown to improve asthma care, but issues like funding, training, and system support still need to be addressed. The study proposes a new model that better reflects the important role CHWs play in improving asthma outcomes and offers policy ideas to strengthen and support their work.
