This study in rural India tested a digital training program for community health workers to help them recognize signs of schizophrenia and refer people for care. Twenty community health workers took part and shared their views through group discussions and surveys. They found the training useful and realized they had often seen symptoms in their communities without knowing what they meant or that treatment was possible. They were satisfied with the training and suggested it be offered to more workers. However, their test scores did not show a clear improvement in knowledge. Overall, the study suggests digital training could help community health workers identify mental health conditions earlier, but more work is needed to confirm its impact in real practice.
