Acceptability and feasibility of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) testing using SD Biosensor by village malaria workers in Cambodia: a qualitative study

This study evaluated stakeholders’ perception on whether it is possible and acceptable to bring point-of-care glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) testing for malaria treatment to communities in Cambodia. Most people agreed the testing is valuable, and village malaria workers could do it well with proper training and support. However, some concerns like cost, device approval, and performance in hot weather must be addressed. More trust from policymakers is also needed. Overall, testing in the community could work, but key challenges need solving first.
