This review examines cervical cancer screening and prevention interventions for African American women in the United States, aiming to promote health equity. Out of 1970 articles, 23 met the criteria, showing various strategies like community health workers and patient navigation. Health education interventions, particularly when combined with patient navigation or community health workers, effectively promoted screening participation. However, there were mixed results regarding the inclusion of health equity principles. Moving forward, it is crucial to incorporate African American women’s perspectives in developing and implementing interventions.
