This systematic review examined community-based interventions for maternal mental health in the US from pregnancy to one year postpartum. It analyzed 22 studies, mostly randomized trials with good quality, involving diverse participants. Interventions were delivered by community health workers, nurses, midwives, and doulas. Results showed mixed effectiveness. Key limitations included small sample sizes, lack of mental health-specific interventions, limited community involvement in designing interventions, and a focus on participants without mental health issues. Community partners provided recommendations for improving research and clinical practices.
