This study involved female Community Health Workers (CHWs) supporting polio vaccination in Pakistan. It gave them an opportunity to share ideas on how to improve the vaccination programme. More than 400 CHWs took part directly, submitting 181 ideas, of which nine were selected for implementation. The workers said the process made them feel valued and improved their confidence and motivation. The study showed that involving CHWs in decision-making can lead to useful improvements in health programmes and help ensure that their experiences and ideas are heard.
