A retrospective review of the Honduras AIN-C program guided by a community health worker performance logic model

by

Authors: Daniela C. Rodríguez and Lauren A. Peterson

Researchers attempted to review community-based Integrated Care of the Child (AIN-C), a growth-monitoring program, using a recently designed logic model proposing categories of support from both health sector and communities that influence community health worker performance and program outcomes. Retrospectively reviewing AIN-C using in-depth interviews, gaps in the logic model were identified, revealing several inconsistencies in the program and challenges with the logic model. Though the AIN-C program did not fit neatly with the CHW performance logic model, the researchers recognize that there is potential to use it as a tool for planning and evaluation.
