The study aimed to increase HIV prevention among Black sexual minority men by using a multicomponent intervention called POSSIBLE, which combined the PrEPme smartphone app with a peer change agent (PCA). Conducted in Baltimore between 2019 and 2021 with 69 participants, the intervention targeted increasing perceived risk for HIV (PRH) to boost PrEP uptake. Participants used the app to monitor sexual risk and chat with community health workers, while PCAs referred them to PrEP services. The average participant age was 32.5 years, and 80% were retained for follow-up. Although there was no significant change in PRH, 42% were willing to be referred to PrEP services, with 69% of those confirming appointments. The high retention and acceptability suggest POSSIBLE could be feasible, warranting further research on its impact on PrEP initiation.
