This mixed-method study developed and investigated the efficacy of a CHV-led program to reduce glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels among patients with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes. Sixty patients were recruited from two communities in Thailand. The treatment group received educational materials, educational activities, and CHV home visits. The control group received usual care. Following analysis, researchers found that patients in the treatment group had a lower average HbA1c and higher diabetes management knowledge. This study suggests that CHV-led interventions involving targeted outreach may be successful in controlling type 2 diabetes in heavily affected populations.
