Diagnostic accuracy of tele-dentistry in screening children for dental caries by community health workers in a lower-middle-income country

This study assessed the accuracy of using mobile phone photos taken by a community health worker (CHW) for detecting dental caries in children aged 6-12 in Iran. Results showed high accuracy of tele-dentistry, with over 80% sensitivity and 90% specificity.
