CHW Central
CHW Central is an online community of practice for and about community health workers and community health worker programs. We envision a world in which everyone in need has access to a trained and supported community health worker. Our mission is to be the preeminent global resource on CHWs and CHW programs. CHW Central aims to increase access to information on CHWs and to promote CHW workforce development, self-determination, and institutionalization.
Position Details:
CHW Central Ambassadors will contribute original blogs, opinion pieces, photo essays and other content to the site. They will assist in the launch of CHW Voices, a new section of the CHW Central site dedicated to CHW developed content. CHW Central is looking for Community or Village Health Workers and/or Volunteers with a passion for advancing community health work and communication. Applicants should be innovative, responsive and flexible.
Ambassadors will be engaged on a part time basis for a period of 12 months. They will work up to ten hours per week, participate in weekly calls with the CHW Central team, and contribute regular CHW related content. CHW Central will engage one US-based CHW applicant and one CHW Applicant from another country for the year.
Position Requirements:
- Passion for community health work and advancing the CHW Workforce
- Basic English proficiency
- Interest in writing, storytelling and advocacy
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively
- Desire to lead and speak for and about the CHW workforce
