Many studies have reviewed how Community Health Workers (CHWs) help with diabetes self-management education (DSME), but there is little focus on foot care interventions (FCIs) for preventing diabetic foot problems. This scoping review aimed to identify and describe the nature and key components of FCIs delivered by CHWs. Using the PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) framework, the authors searched various electronic databases for relevant articles up to December 2022. From 1,644 studies, nine were included. These studies showed that CHWs generally provided DSME, including some foot care education, but did not detail the core components of FCIs. Despite the lack of specifics, it is clear that CHW interventions are crucial for promoting foot health and preventing foot problems in underserved communities.
